About Me
Yegane is an
artist
and designer born in Iran and currently based in the Netherlands.
Situated in the fluctuating and shifting currents of the world, her practice explores her position within the socio-political and geopolitical issues. Guided by feminist, care, and resistance discourses, she draws inspiration from the curiosity of old and new knowledge and the playful wisdom of myths and nature, making her practice a vessel of reimaging the world.
Through audio-visual work, storytelling, embodiment practices, workshops, and writing, her work takes various forms, all of which highlight resistance, collectivity, and care.
Her practice is shaped around participation and involvement, and is moved by her cultural heritage. She examines the contradictions in various levels of personal and political, seeking to show the delicacy and complexities of existing in this world, and aims at nurturing a more caring and vibrant society built on understanding and empathy, and joy.
